Internal Audit Head

About the Role

The Internal Audit Head is a key executive role responsible for providing independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve the organization’s operations.

This position oversees the entire internal audit function, ensuring that risk management, control, and governance processes are functioning effectively in accordance with Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) regulations and International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.

The role reports functionally to the Audit Committee and administratively to the President/CEO to ensure independence and proper organizational stature.

Core Responsibilities:

Strategic Audit Management

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive risk-based annual audit plan aligned with the bank’s strategic goals

  • Present audit plans, budgets, and resource requirements to the Audit Committee

  • Ensure independence and objectivity across all audit activities

Governance & Compliance

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls across operations, governance, and information systems

  • Ensure compliance with AMLA, PFRS, and BSP regulations

  • Maintain and update the Internal Audit Manual and Charter

Reporting & Communication

  • Provide regular reports to the Board of Directors and Audit Committee

  • Issue Summary of Audit Exceptions (SAE) and formal reports to Senior Management

  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulators (e.g., BSP)

Quality Assurance & Improvement

  • Establish and manage a Quality Assurance and Improvement Program (QAIP)

  • Lead root cause analysis and provide actionable recommendations for long-term improvements

Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field

Certifications

  • CPA and/or CIA designation preferred

Experience

  • 7–10 years in internal auditing

  • At least 3 years in a leadership role within a bank or financial institution

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of BSP MORB, AMLA regulations, and PFRS

Soft Skills

  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management

  • Excellent communication and data storytelling skills

  • High level of integrity and professional skepticism

Core Responsibilities:

  • Prepare loan releases for approved applications

  • Generate monthly and quarterly reports for BSP submission

  • Assist loan officers in portfolio management and documentation

  • Coordinate with clients and third parties for required documents

  • Support the lending team in maintaining client relationships

  • Process loan renewals and related paperwork

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in general banking operations

  • Graduate of Finance, Accounting, or related field

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Internet usage

  • Familiar with office equipment (e.g., multi-line phone systems)

  • Strong communication skills, especially in handling client inquiries

  • Knowledge of mortgage lending policies and procedures is an advantage

Credit Investigator/Appraiser

About the Role

We are looking for a Credit Investigator / Appraiser who will be responsible for evaluating loan applications through property inspections, market assessments, and borrower verification. This role is ideal for someone analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable with fieldwork.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspection, assessment, and valuation of properties and collateral

  • Verify location, boundaries, and legitimacy of appraised assets

  • Determine property acceptability as loan security based on bank policies

  • Perform market surveys and analysis

  • Validate all borrower-provided information in loan applications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accountancy, Banking, or any business-related course

  • Licensed Appraiser is an advantage

  • Experience in loans and collections is a plus

  • Strong marketing and interpersonal skills

  • Good oral and written communication skills

  • Willing to travel extensively and familiar with Region 3 area

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience
